Ashley Hearn at Peachtree Teen has acquired world rights to The Mermaid of Warsaw, the first prose novel by R.M. Romero (The Ghosts of Rose Hill), merging the real history of the Warsaw Uprising with Polish folklore, pitched as “The Little Mermaid” meets Where the Dark Stands Still, in which Shimon, a Jewish boy living under false Aryan papers, teams up with a mermaid who bargained with Baba Jaga for a pair of legs to fight the German occupation.
